She had her embassy interview last night. The interviewer spoke only English, so my wife spoke to him in English. They asked some very basic questions (How did we meet, if she has talked to my family, my mother's name, etc.) and did ask us about the tourist visa we tried to get last year. She was honest and said that we did not know what to do back at the time. The interview was very brief (less than 10 minutes!). The interview was very impressed with her English, and asked her where she learned it from. She told him from an early age, but talking to me everyday for 2 years for hours a day has helped a lot!
He wrote in big words "APPROVED" on her visa application, and gave us the 2nd best piece of news that her visa will be done by this week or Monday at the latest! So I called the airline and made the change so my wonderful wife will be here in Colorado next Wednesday! I can't wait!
Although we brought lots of pics, they never looked at them. I showed a travel itinerary that was backed up by scans of my passport, but without the original, or have a notarized copy of the passport, they did not believe that I had been to Georgia 10 times in 2 years (which is the truth, but as a suggestion, make sure you have more solid documentation about your travel - ticket stubs, notarized passport copies, etc.).
I think the key to this interview was her ability to answer all personal questions about me (the USC) and being able to not be nervous or scared when answering questions. Speaking fluent English was a big bonus.
