Went to embassy in Frankfurt today. My wife and I stayed at the best western located right behind the embassy. We timed it the night before and found it takes about 10 minutes to walk from hotel to the front entrance of the embassy.

We showed up at around 6:50am, appointment was at 7:30am. The processing line to get into security didn't open until 7am, so we stood around and around 7:15 got in line for security. No big issue at security, except we brought the medical disk from the health exam and had to check it there.

Got inside the embassy and waited. The first station didn't open until 7:30am and we were 2nd in line so had to wait about 15 minutes. First station verified that you arrived, took your passport and did a quick scrub of your packet.

We were then told to go to the next window over and pay the fee. Ok, there goes $404 dollars. The guy at the counter told us to sit down and wait for our number to be called.

The next station didn't open until 8am. so we were waiting for another 15 minutes. The guy at this station checked our paperwork, told us how we can get some of the processing fees back, and asked for some of our originals. I had mailed in an abundance of support and paperwork so only needed, original police certificates, marriage certificate and wife birth certificate. He took those and placed them in a folder told us we will get it back later. He also gave us an envelope to fill out our address and place the stamps on it. He had us take a seat and then we waited.

The last station was the interview. This station didn't open until 9am. and the first people got up there and their interview took about 20 minutes.. I was siting there going, well others have said at frankfurt only had interview that took 5 minutes and first one took 20, this might not be a good day. Well the first couple I guess had some issues and gave them a green paperwork and didn't approve theirs pending more paperwork. Another consular officer opened and took an applicate who's number was higher than mine. Their interview took less than 10 minutes and they were approved.

We waited another 5 minutes and I saw the lady at the counter reviewing my wifes packet. We got called up to her station. I was a little nervous as the first interviess took so long and were not approved. . The lady asked us to swear to the information was truthful and correct , and asked me to take a seat while she talked with my wife. She asked her questions about how we met, about my parents, what they do, and where they live.

Then I was called back and was asked most of the same questions. Answered them no problems, only real question different is why we got married on the 2nd time we met. Told her, I knew she was the one. She must of liked it because she told us congradulations, and it will be a couple of days for the process to complete and mail my wife passport back to me!!!

So very good day today.. just finished the 4 hour drive home.
