We got to the office 15 minutes late for our 10:00 AM appointment. Not a great start, but as frazzled as I was, the reception where I handed in my appointment notice said, no problem, not to worry. The office was busy, we waiting approx 20 minutes to be called. The Officer was very professional and pleasant. I came armed with all copies, documents, etc. as required. The only thing she asked us for were some bills and pictures. She looked at our wedding pictures, shared with us about her upcoming wedding and asked us how we liked getting married on the Beach. Most questions she asked were straight off the application: birthdays ( my husband got mine wrong) where did we meet, how many kids we have, etc. At the end, she didn't give us a definite answer, but lead us to beleive that we would be approved. She said, it will be a couple of weeks at the latest, and that they had to run some final security checks.
4 days later, I received a call from her stating that my finger prints were unreadable for the second time. She said that she was going to send me to another government agency for a background check and fingers prints. One week later I went to have that done. The results were mailed to me and I received them less than a week; all clear. She called me back, made an appointment to have me bring in that document.
I went back to the Baltimore office; arrived 10 minutes early. She came out immedietely, chit chatted a bit, then swore me in. She asked me the security questions on the application again, i.e. every been arrested, etc. Took the document, said that she had everything she needed to make the decision and not to worry it wouldn't be much longer.
Later that night I received a text, then an email from USCIS, stating that my card had been sent in for production! FINALLY!!!
