We never received our package, we went to pick up the package on Monday Feb 28 one week before the interview.
At 6:05am we began to enter the building and go through security. At 6:45 we were called to submit our documents at window 25. They stay with the forms, police report, birth certificate, passport, etc. We were told to pay at window 12 and return to window 25 after paying, window 12 did not open until 7:30. We paid, went back to window 25, and she have us our ticket number 141. About 20 or 30 minutes later we were called for finger prints.
After about another 20 minutes or so, we were called to window 24 for our interview. A tall, bald, white man, maybe 30 or 35 years old was our Consulate Officer. He asked if Stephanie (beneficiary) speaks English. So, for our whole interview he spoke to us both in English. He asked me (petitioner) for my passport and saw all of the stamps on it and asked if they were all to see Stephanie. I said yes. He asked where I work and what I do and asked Stephanie if she knew how long I\'ve been there. She answered correctly. He then asked Stephanie how and when we met. Asked Stephanie if she had any relatives in the US. Then CO asked us both if we had any pictures of us together, we gave him our 22 pictures. We were not at any point asked to submit an affidavit, bank letter, bank statements, pay stubs, employment letter, tax returns or evidence (we had all of these documents prepared as well as co-sponsor documents). He only looked at our pictures.
Then he asked if I (petitioner) had any relatives in DR, and asked who they were. He then asked me to go downstairs so that he could talk to Stephanie. I left all of my packages and passport at the window and went downstairs to sit and wait.
The CO asked Stephanie the following questions as he took notes of EVERYTHING.
How old are you?
Why don\'t you get married in DR?
When do you plan on getting married?
Religious or legal ceremony?
Plans for the honeymoon? What plans?
When will the legal wedding be? Church wedding?
Where did he propose? Where EXACTLY?
Did he talk to your parents first?
What did you do after the proposal??
Fiancé\'s parents\' full names, where they live?
Do you have any siblings? Names and ages?
How many people will attend the wedding?
Then he told Stephanie to wait downstairs and called me up.
The CO asked me all of the same questions and checked off on a piece of paper as I was answering him.
After I answered all of the questions he told me to call Stephanie back up and told us that we were approved and to go pay DomEx.
We were done with everything by 9am.
