We arrived at the 7.15 am arrival time and were escorted into a room where 4 other couples were waiting for a similar interview. Luckily, we jumped the enormous line for people waiting for tourist visa approvals!! It appears they handle tourist requests and other visa requests separately, which makes sense, since there are much fewer people (or so it appears) in the process for visas other than tourist visas.
There was a very kind young woman attending to us pre-interview who requested us to organize our documents in a particular way so that when it came time to the interview, the consul could skim through them. The interview itself was very short and sweet, just a few questions were presented to my fiance (I could have been present there with him, but I was getting us coffee at the time!!) ;-( We didn\'t realize we would be called so quickly! I know she asked him how and when we met, but that's all I can remember as far as questions asked. I can find out more, if anyone wants to know.
Anyway, my fiance had just completed the medical exam the day before, so the doctor still had to send his medical report, otherwise he would have received the visa in his passport that day. Our interview was on February 1. On February 11 we received an email saying all the documents were received my the consular office and were under review.
We expect him to receive his visa any day now....more updates to follow.
