Hi everyone, my dad has asked me to share my interview experience with the VJ community since there are not a lot of IR-2 reviews here.
1st INTERVIEW(August 17 2010):
Woke up at 3:00am because i so anxious that i couldn\'t sleep ! My appointment was scheduled for 7:30am but i decided to head out at 4:00am since i didn\'t know how far the embassy was from my house. Arrived at the embassy 30 minutes later and it was still dark and very cold(\'\')The whole place was spoooking me out so i approached the security to ask if he could spare a seat(he had more than one seat)and he was like" No, boss nobody is allowed to hang around the embassy. See that roundabout there ? go sit on the stones. people will start appearing soon" So i walked to the roundabout and had a sit, soon turned out be 5:30am when a woman started arranging plastic chairs in front of one of the compounds near the embassy. Approached her and asked if i could sit ? and she said it costs 50pesewas. Had a sit and watched people start to arrive. At seven 7:00 am, a guard came out of the embassy to Shout \"7:30\" saw people running to queue so i joined in(\'\'). Whilst queuing a guard went round instructing everybody to take out their appointment letters. After the security check, we all trouped into the embassy and had our seats(it was freezing inside). Around 7:40, i was called to window one and a Ghanaian man asked for my documents(pictures, affidavit of support, appointment letter,medicals) told me to have a seat and called me back 5mins later. This time he had folder in front of him \"Your police certificate has expired and there is mark on your birth certificate that\'s covering one of the letters\" so he took out red stickers and stuck them on these documents( these documents have been with the embassy since august 2009 and they didn\'t mention this the checklist they sent me with the appointment letter)(\'\')
So he asked to sit down again and i was called to window 8 a while later. This time it was a white man, the questions went like this :
CO : KK ?
C0 who petitioned for you ?
CO: Name please
CO: how did he get to the states ?
CO : when did he first get there ?
CO: why didn\'t you go with him the first time ?
CO: how many times has been back since ?
CO: where does he live in the states ?
CO : how many siblings do you have ?
CO: what does your father do ?
he typed somethings on his keyboard and picked up a white slip and told me i needed a new police certificate, birth certificate, proof or relationship and a DNA test and gave me a new appointment date for January 20th 2011.
2nd INTERVIEW(January 20th 2011) :
After spending the previous 5months gathering all the required documents, i arrived at the embassy at 11:30 for a 2:00 interview. This time its was pretty straight forward the CO( a different one) to a quick look at my documents( didn\'t even ask about the ton of evidence i was carrying)and said i was approved but i needed to bring IRS tax transcripts from my petitioner before i could be issued a visa. he took out a yellow slip and gave me new appointment in 2weeks
3rd INTERVIEW (2nd February 2011):
Finished the security clearance around 7:30 and was called to window 3. presented my transcripts to the Indian lady and she typed for while on her keyboard and took out a blue slip and told to come pick up my visa on the date written on the slip and not to make travel plans.
Pickup Day (11th February 2011):
After a 3hr wait, finally picked (\'\')
Praise be to God ! After 5yrs of anxiety (\'\')
