Bogota, Colombia | Review on February 5, 2011: | Mary y Leo
Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
We arrived at the Embassy around 6:15am, they were a lot of people at that time so we were in line line 1, after a few minutes some ladies were checking the interview dates, so one of them told us to go to line 3(this line was shorter), around 6:25am we entered into the Embassy and went to line 40, after receiving a green folder, we put all the document requires in that folder, Income tax for last year, DS230,passport, 2 pictures, (remember, even so you already sent all these documents to NVC, its a good idea to take it with you for the interview again). My husband returned the folder to the lady and we just seated and waited. around 9:30am a lady for window 7 called my husband so we both approached to the window but the lady in the window told my husband to tell me to go back a sit down, I got nervous at this time but I put everything in God\'s hand. my husband returned after 10 minutes and he had a little interview, what was my name, my age, where I am from, and after this, the lady told him to go back to his seat, but the next time they will call him; both me and my husband had to approached to the window.
Around 11am they called my husband from windows 2 for fingerprints,We were a little nervous watching people called and we were still there waiting and waiting to be called again.
At 1:30pm finally a lady called my husband from windows 6, so we both approached but only my husband talked to the lady, I was next to him the whole time, praying to God, to help us on this journey. She looked at me and smile.
The first thing the lady did was gave my husband a paper to sign, at that moment I was so happy because I know only when they approved your visa, you have to sign the DS230 part II, after this, she started the questions:
how did we meet each other, when did we got married,if I have children how many, the ages of my children, at that moment my husband showed her pictures of our weeding, she also ask who was in the weeding, so my husband told her, his whole family was there, plus my dad, and my kids were present too. he showed the pictures of our weeding with my dad and kids.
Then she asked my husband how did he get along with my kids and he smile and said pretty good,
Another question was where was our honeymoon,he said it was in Cartagena, and once again he showed her pictures of our honeymoon in Cartagena
Also he asked how many times I was in Colombia in 2010, so my husband responded 4, the last time was New Year , and one more time pictures of New Year of my husband and me with firecraker on the sky
Another questions was : why did he wanted to go to the United States? and my husband hug me and responded her: to be next to my wife all the time because he loved me
After this she said everything was ok, and our visa was Approved... My husband and I kissed and hugs, we were so happy, and the lady just looked at us and smile.
Then she told my husband to go to DOMESA and paid for the delivery of the passport.
We were so happy walking down that hallways, kissing each other, gave thank to GOD...he paid in Domesa, and they told him it will take up to 8 days to received his passport on his house.
One recommendation to all: Please even so they didn't ask for proves of our relationship, (pictures, phone calls received, chat logs, it is a good idea to have plenty of this and have them ready at the time of the final interview), remember PICTURES TALKED BY THEMSELVES.
Hope this help you
