Juarez, Mexico | Review on January 19, 2011: | Jen&Oscar
Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
My husband went by himself to Cuidad Juarez because he was concerned about my safety and taking the time away from work would have been a challenge, as well as costly.
His medical exam was uneventful and it ended up costing 334.00. he saw an older man at the medical exam who had to pay over $700. I don't know how some people do it. This whole experience has drained us financially and emotionally.
Thank God, that we have some resources from which to draw, it makes me sad that money may dictate whether a person can live the American dream. My family immigrated to the United States (actually the North Amreican Continent) in the early 1700's, I'm sure they were poor and looking for a better life.
My husband went to his interview which was short, they said that my original divorce decree from my first marriage was missing. This is after 2 RFE's asking for random things that I know I sent. They asked him if he'd ever been to the US illegally. He said yes for 5 months in 2000. The interviewer said that if he had told the truth they would approve his visa but they needed to check his fingerprints.
I still don't know if he's approved as I write this. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
