Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

First of all I want to thank God for finally finishing and completing this long journey of getting my wife's immigrant visa.

Unlike other post I have seen on this website. Our process has been different because I'm currently living in Egypt. I went through all the Stages of immingrant visa plus more. Not only that I had to prove to the embassy that I still have ties to the U.S. " proof ofDomicile".

The following is what happened on our interview date;

We arrived at the embassy at 7:00 am the letter says 7:30am . When we arrived we found a long line outside. So I suggest getting there earlier if you want to finish earlier.
Once we got in our number was 525. We were inside the embassy by 8:00 and they started calling numbers by then.
At 11:00 our number was called keep in mind that there was 24 people in front of us . usually the embassy takes about 33 immigrant visa interviews a day ranging from Cr-1 to DV.
We went to window 11 where we were met by a nice egyptian women.she went through the papers and gave me some of our papers that i had submitted that she thought was irrelevant after going through all the papers she gave us two papers one for DHL and another to pay for Step two fees so be prepared to pay about an additional $400 dollars.
After paying the fees we waited for about 30 minutes and were called back to have my wife take her Biometrix.
we sat down for 15 minutes to go to window 15 where we had the interview.
We met a nice man in his 40's and he looked at us and asked her if she has been to the U.S. before, how did u meet and then asked me a couple of questions about what i was do ing in egypt?

After that he said Mabrook you will get the visa in two weeks.

I wish everyone good luck through this long and stressful process. but in the end its worth it
