A SPECIAL THANKS TO TRAILMIX FOR ALL HER SUPPORT, ADVICE AND SUGGESTIONS~PROVING DOMICLE HAS TRULY PUT OUR LIFE ON PATH WITH A FUTURE IN THE USA...I DIDN'T NEED A SPONSOR AS I WAS ABLE TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT IN MY CAREER OF CHOICE. IF YOU WOULDN'T OF TAKEN THE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY TO BE A SUPPORT, I TRULY COULD HAVE MISSED ALL THESE MOMENTS THAT HAVE FALLEN INTO PLACE AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME...THANK YOU TRAILMIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO THIS SITE AND TO ME AND TO MY FAMILY!!!!!

We arrived at 7am, at the infamous line where many have stood shoulder to shoulder before us and many will stand again. We were the 2nd in line, behind a family of four. My Dear Husband took the initiative to remain in the line, so that I could fetch us 2 double doubles from Canada's favorite coffee hub; Timmies. As I returned he was speaking to a couple, who later realized were sitting next to each other for the physical earlier this week, in Toronto. The couple also frequent the board, but do not participate.

At 7:35am the security man was putting on his uniform jacket and began letting the herd thru the doors. Only 2 cases were permitted in at a time, while names were checked against the roll call. We breezed through security, as we only had our file and the cash. We were given the GOLDEN Letter A! We were told to head down the stairs and await for a security guard.

Naturally, we sat closest to the elevator. However, it didn't matter as they call the letters in alphabetical order; A, B, C and D. We knew to stand in the very back of the elevator knowing how the back doors would open. Enjoyed the beautiful view for about an 1/2 hour.

My husband was called up to Window 11, where I accompanied him. We were greeted by a pleasantly, plump, blonde lady who was friendly and had casual conversation. She asked for the originals, then returned them:

Marriage Certificate
Birth Certificate

Then she asked us to look over the DS230 for any changes, which there were. We pointed out to her that I left Canada in July to prove domicile. She asked for the specific date and told me that was very good to hear. She whited out 2 sections on the DS230 for me to write in the proper addresses.

While I was making the changes, she proceeded to ask my husband for:

I864 - while he handed this to her, he spoke up to say...there are supporting I864 documents with the forms. Which she kindly accepted.

Then she asked for:

the criminal (we had the name check and went the extra mile with the fingerprints)
the sealed medical envelope
then DH proceeded with the request of his fingerprinting

She then asked us to go to Window 14 to pay, then return the receipt to her.

We paid, then returned to her window with the receipt. She again asked, when I returned to the US. She again commented she was glad I did that. She told us to have a seat, it wouldn't be too much longer.

Sat in the waiting room for less then 5 minutes, then DH's name was called to go to Room #8. The gentleman was about 5'5, very friendly, seemed very easy going. He immediately asked us to raise our right hand and affirm or testify that the information provided would be truthful:

Then he began to quiz us:

Questions directed at DH:
How did we meet
What type of site did we meet on-was it a dating site? In which we explained it was a game site, we met playing Euchre
Who proposed to who
How my husband proposed-he responded in the bathtub...and the gentleman stated...I don't need to hear anything more; we all laughed
What my husband did for a living
What was the extent of time my husband has spent in the States
Did he have any biological children
Has he ever committed a crime in any country

He then turned to his questioning to me:
When did I move to the states
Asked me to show him paycheck stubs, but I explained they were with the I864 supporting documents- he commented we did our homework and he was sure he would get to them
He asked for my 2009 taxes, in which I explained I did not file, as I did not have income to report, cause I was living in Canada. He then very nicely gave me a 45 second lecture on filing taxes, even if income was not earned

He asked why I chose to live where I moved- I explained I had family in the area
He asked what I did for a living
He asked when I returned to Canada and have I returned since I left in July- I explained I had not as I found a job and wanted to prove domicile. He then again said...you did your homework

THEN as he was closing the folder....HE SAID BASED ON EVERYTHING YOU HAVE PROVIDED AND TOLD ME TODAY...CONGRATULATION-WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

my eyes started to swell up with tears and my husband turns to me and kisses me soooooo hard...we said thank you and was so happy and he said I like seeing smiles on faces, it makes my day...I said oh you just don't know how happy we are. We gathered our stuff and proceeded out the door and again I turned to him and said Thank You...and God Bless!

We returned to the waiting area to speak to the couple we met in line and who my husband sat next to at the Dr's office in Toronto~ then we GOT THE HECK OUT OF THERE to go celebrate by ourselves!!!!!

We are home now...I leave for the USA on Saturday...my husband must finish out his contract...but will not be far behind me
