Hi...

My interview was on Tuesday, Nov. 9th and my medical was the next day. This was not a problem, just meant a trip back to the consulate to drop things off.

I found both the interview and the medical to be a lot more of the "hurry up and wait" that we have all come to love so much!

For me the most stressful part was simply getting all my documents out and praying I had everything as they wanted. I was missing and ORIGINAL of my Divorce certificate which had me really ticked with myself but was an easy enough fix as I simply ordered another copy for $20. It did mean that I won't get my visa for another week but no extra trip or interview or "review process."

The interview itself was good. The interviewer was very pleasant, even a little chatty so I felt at ease.

I am so relieved it is over. On to planning for the next immigration hurdle.

If you are needing a place to stay, I would recommend staying at the Days Inn. It is likely one of the cheaper hotels in the area and it is only a couple blocks from the consulate and maybe 10 blocks from the Woking Clinic. Get off at Burrard Station and walk downhill toward W Pender. If you are flying into Vancouver, the sky train now goes tight out to the airport so it is super easy to get downtown from there.
