i arrived at the us embassy at about 7:15 for my 7:30 interview where i met 2 other immigrant visa applicants in line before me.i had left my cell phone with my cousin who waited for me outside.there were 2 lines..1 for non-immigrant applicants & the other for immigrants.we then went through the airport like security & proceeded to a small room where we were asked to sit & wait.then after about 5 minutes we were asked to proceed to another building where we sat again.A woman then asked all iv applicants to bring forward the first page of their invitations & we sat again.by this time more iv applicants began coming in & i kept thinking how lucky i was to be 3rd in line.(wasn't sure if it was on a first come first serve basis).sat & waited for about 30 mins then my name was called.she asked a few questions then proceeded to explain the cr-1 process & told me i needed to sign up for selective service because i was not yet 26.she took a copy of my medicals, gave me one also but strangley never took 1 look at the large x-ray film which i'd been dragging around for the past 2 days.(how pissed was i...lol).she then took my fingerprints.sat & waited for about an hour & a half til my name was called again.the co was a white american, probably early 30's.he was very cordial & professionl.questions asked were:
1.how i met my wife
2.how long we knew each other
3.how she came to the states
4.how long has she been to the states
5.did her family fly down for the wedding
6.who from my family was there
7.how many people does she live with
the entire interview took about 5 minutes & it was more conversation than a formal interview.he didn't ask for any pictures or other proof.he then told me that my visa was approved & gave a green slip to take to the dhl counter.paid us$25 & was out of the building by 10:00.i had to try to contain myself because i wanted to scream so bad.couldn't believe that was so easy.was nothing like i expected at all.the entire interview from entry to exit took about 2 1/2 hours.now i just wait for my visa & then i'm off to see my baby
