We knew our petition was at the embassy. I emailed them after it had been there about a week to see when the packet 3 would be sent. Every email I sent them was answered within one day. They were very nice and informative. Anyway, they said Pkt 3 had been sent. Another week went by, no packet, so hachemi called them and they told him he could come by and pick it up. They scheduled a time for him to come. He did his medical exam and had to wait one week for the results. He went back to Algiers on a Monday to pick up the results of the medical. He then called the embassy for an appointment and was given the interview appt. for the following Sunday at 3pm. That Sunday he showed up at the embassy and the guard said his appointment was for 9:30 am. Hachemi said no, it was for 3pm. The guard called the consular and they said to let him enter, his appt. was at 3pm. Hachemi entered and the only people there was a married couple waiting to be interviewed. They called Hachemi up to a window and he talked with an Algerian man. He took all Hachemi's documents, the ds documents, with required documents, passport, the I-134 affidavit of support and financial documents, and our photos and relationship evidence. He had Hachemi swear an oath to the accuracy of the documents and he swears He intends to marry me and signed the document. They took his index finger prints. Hachemi went back to wait and the Algerian man gave the documents to an older American man. Hachemi said he watched as he went through the documents. They called Hachemi back up and the older man gave him back our relationship evidence and our photos. He smiled and told Hachemi jokingly that we had a lot of evidence when we only needed a little. . They did not ask Hachemi any questions about anything. The officer then told him to go to the Algerian man and he would explain how to pick up his visa at the UPS office in one week. Hachemi then left, still nervous and unsure about what just happened. The guard asked him "are you ok?" and Hachemi said, "I dont know." The guard said, "Did they keep your passport?" He said "yes." The guard said,"You are ok then." He then left and went to the UPS office to pay a fee. You have a choice, to pick up you passport at the UPS or you can have UPS deliver it to the benificiary's home. Hachemi chose to pick it up and it cost about 300 dinars (around $5) . It is a little more to have it delivered. Hachemi said everyone was very nice there.
