After reading recent reviews I noticed they still seem to be doing the first-come, first-served, I decided to get there early rather than the 20 minutes before appointment time. Arrived 6:50am, next to show up was Canadiandggal at 7:00.

Only a few people in line when the doors opened at 7:30 - they want your passport and interview letter out. Clipped letter 'A' to my letter. Went through security, down to the elevator, where he took A-D upstairs.

At 8am, was called up to window 11 (although my letter A said window 9) where nice blonde lady took original and copies of: birth cert, marriage cert, passport; originals only of police cert and photos. Sent to window 14a to pay fee (because I filed DCF), then back to window 11 for fingerprints, I-864, and 2009 taxes/transcripts.

Sat in waiting room for a few minutes, then called to room 7. Very nice petite blonde lady, we had what seemed like just a normal conversation, it didn't seem like interview questions. I think she noticed my husband's address on the DS-230 because the first question she asked was when he returned to the States, I said April, she didn't ask anything else regarding domicile (although I had car ownership, driver's licence, voter registration, etc. to show her.) She asked what he does, how long we've been together, etc., we joked about signing the document saying you aren't entering the country to practice polygamy ( :P ). All in all was very pleasant. She asked me if I had signed up for DHL delivery. She seemed hopeful that I should receive the visa before the flight I've got for Oct 28.

Was out of the consulate by 8:40am. Tried to use the phone booth cati-corner from Tim Hortons (one block west of the consulate), it ate my 50c, had to get more change from Timmies.

Two thumbs up, Montreal.
