We stayed at the Wyndam the night before...which was about 15 min. (in traffic) from the embassy, It was a nice hotel and easy access. We arrived at around 7:30 am for his 8:30 am appointment. We were already expecting to be "Blue Slipped", because the RGD kept coming up with reasons why his No Impediment wasn't ready. We walked up to the "Ladys in Pink", who asked for his DS-156, 156-K, and 157..she stapled his passport photos to the papers where they needed to be. Then she looked up at me and said, "You know you can't go in right?" I said, I thought that they wanted the petitioner there and she said, they don't allow them in anymore, but that they would come get me if they needed me. She then gave my fiance back all his papers and told him to go inside. The security guard checked that he had seen the "Ladys in Pink" and then let him inside. Right inside the doors was the security check point-no cell phones etc...Once inside, it took him about 3.5 hrs. total. He said the longest part was waiting in line at DHL...lol...When he was inside and he was called up for the interview, he said there was a black woman next to him giving some poor guy a hard time. He was interviewed by one white man and one black man who were very nice. They asked him: Where I was from? (He said Oregon, they considered it wrong cuz they wanted the City) Where was I born? (He couldn't remember the name of the City) When and How did we Meet? How many times had I been there? How did he propose? He said when he told the story of how he got on one knee and proposed on the beach that both men were impressed. They never said anything about him not having his No-Impediment, they never asked to look at the photo album...they just said APPROVED. Meanwhile outside...I stood in the hot sun for about 10 mins. until a security guard came over and talked to me. He was really nice and led me behind the security gates outside and let me stand in the shade against the wall of the building with all of the other security guards. I visisted with most of them, and they were extremely nice. The security guard that had originally come and got me, went inside once and checked on my fiance. He came out and said that he looked very confident and said he got through!! That was hard for me to believe since I knew we were going to be blue slipped. But, soon out my fiance came holding the DHL receipt!! God is Good!! I still think that if the petitioner makes the trip, they should be allowed inside....I was told by the guards that had they wanted me there for the interview, it might not of mattered that I was there or not. They would have just blue slipped my fiance and made us set up another appointment. I looked at the guard and go "Are you serious? Then this is a wasted trip!" He goes, "Don't say that!" and he said he'd go check inside and try to let them know I was only there until Monday. He never really got back to me because he was busy, and since my fiance got approved it didn't matter, but just a warning to some...just cause you're outside waiting, doesn't necessarily mean they will call you in...they might make you set up another appointment.
