I arrived at 9.15am for my 10am appointment.

I waited for 10 minutes outside and at security. I was asked for my passport and appointment letter at this time.

I was given an 'I' appointment number at reception and advised to sit at the far end of the waiting room, near window 1.

I waited approximately 3 hours to be called to window 1.

At window 1 I was asked for my passport, appointment letter, birth certificate (plus copy), police certificate (plus copy), my I-134 plus fiance's employer letter. My finger prints were then taken. I was asked if I had paid my fee online. Because I hadn't I then had to go to the cashier at window 12 and pay there. I then returned to window 1 and was given a pink slip and asked to sit down and wait to be called for interview.

I was called to window 15 after approximately 15 minutes and the interviewer asked me how I was. I was then asked to hold up my right hand and swear that all the information I had given and would give pertaining to my application was truthful. i was also asked to scan my finger prints again at this time.
I was then asked the following questions:
How did you meet your fiance?
What did he study at university?
Where does he work now?
When did you become engaged?
How did he propose?
Do you have a ring? Can I see it?
When will you get married?
Has your fiance visited you here since he left the UK?

(when I told him that I had visited my fiance in the US he pulled up my immigration photos to confirm this)

These questions were all part of a seemingly very informal chat and the man was very friendly and I felt at ease. He told me I smiled a lot when I talked about my fiance and that I was approved and to go get married!

He then explained the rules regarding entering the US on this visa. All of which are documented throughout the paperwork for the K1 visa and on the websites.

I then went to the courier service and paid them. (They do not accept cash)

My experience was a good one and my advice is, be patient, expect a long wait, take all the documentation you think you will need and take copies of certificates!
