My experience:
First of all, neither my fiancée or myself received the interview package. We both continuously called the INPOSDOM (Dominican mail service), but the very nice lady manager would always give us bad news. I called for information at 1-877-804-5402 ($7/call) several times to tell them that we hadn’t received the package about 3 weeks before our interview on the 20th of September. They told us that they had regulations that a duplicate package can only be petitioned by them 10 days before the interview date. I was like WHATTTTTTTT, ARE YOU CRAZY. I didn’t win the battle and she ended up having to go get a duplicate package at the embassy on Sep 13th. At this point Im almost sure the medical exam results wouldn’t be ready for the 20th, and I was right.
The day of the interview we had all required info except the medical exam results, but we had researched that it would be ok the get interviewed the on the 20th and that a response would be pending and then given to us once they received the med results afterwards (1year max). We arrived to the embassy at 5am and our interview was at 6am. My fiancée made the line will I looked for parking around the area. Be careful because at that time it is still dark and someone may be watching your every move. We were about 35th in line. They started letting people in at around 615 Am and divided the line by gender once it got very close to the entrance. My fiancé had left a usb memory stick in her purse and they didn’t let her in with it. She had to go outside, pay a guy that holds items 50 dr pesos to hold.
Inside the embassy is soooo hot and they did not call us for anything until around 1030am. Calls were as follows:
1. Called fiancées name through speaker to collect all required forms, passport, cedula. The gentleman asked us a few questions to kind of make sure it was in fact us. And then told us to sit and wait to be called again.
2. Fiancee was called through speaker 30 minutes after and told to pay the 210 fee.
3. Fiancee called through speaker 30 minutes later to be given a ticket with a number.
4. 1 hour later digital screen displayed fiancées number and window to go get finger printed. Not ink but a special machine that scans your prints.
5. Told to sit down and wait about another 30 minutes and called for to window 19 where we stood infront of a Chinese man which was behind a window. Let the interview begin lol standing up.
