This was my first time to a US consulate, so I just followed what everyone else did. I placed my passport up to the security video and said "I am American." "Okay, please come in", says the anonymous voice. I went through security and had to check in my cell phone. I knew backpacks weren't allowed so I just brought my folder and pencil case with me. I was told to go up the stairs to the ACS window but ha, ha...there were hundreds of people everywhere and windows galore. I went back down stairs and the American at the desk told me up the stairs to the right. I waited in line and was given a form to fill out. I submitted the form and they told me it would be 10 minutes. Meanwhile, 30 minutes to 45 minutes goes by and they say, in another few minutes. Sure enough, they call my name and I get my document. Since I am getting married, they gave me information about marrying in Romania and how to file DCF. They asked me if I needed immigration forms. I was like.. "Here you go, m'aam."" Okay, sure." I got two G-325a's(w/carbon copies) and one I-130.
Since my visit, I've been emailing and talking to the CO's and staff there. They've always been quick to respond to my requests, although the information was sometimes confusing --yes, you can do this IF; no, you can't, BUT....so, overall, I would have to say above average. They are polite and helpful. :D
