Got outside REALLY early, just after 6:15am, and there was no one else, so we decided to grab a quick breakfast at a cafe right on the corner. Got back at 6:45am, and there were already 2 people in line. Doors opened promptly at 7:30am, went through security and was handed the letter C.

Went upstairs, waited for about 20 min to be called to window 14 and was helped by a very friendly lady who asked for my Police Check, Medical results, 2 passport photos, and all the other stuff. She instructed us to go to the cashier window, pay $350 US in cash, and then sit back down and wait to be called again.

After about 30 min or so, we were called back to the window, where my receipt was taken, and I was fingerprinted. My information was double-checked, and then we were instructed to go sit down and wait until we were called into the interview booth. We waited a good 3 hours, and it wasn't until 1:30 when I heard my name called.

Was interviewed by another very friendly lady who asked really simple questions like "Where do you work?" "Where do you (my fiance) work?" "Where do you (my fiance) live?" and the like. I actually made a mistake on my employment dates, and she asked "why were you unemployed from July 2006 to February 2010?" I got confused, and then realized 2006 should actually be 2009, and she corrected the form.

Also, she couldn't find our declaration of our relationship, so I went into our duplicate petition copy, and handed her the document. She read it over, asked me some questions about teaching in China, and was surprised that Kate, my fiance, was also able to get a visitors visa and visit me. We talked a bit about Colorado, and how beautiful it is there, and the whole interview was very laid back and relaxed.

After about 10 minutes total, she said "Well, everything looks to be in order, so expect your passport back within a week"

!!!

I thanked her for making it so easy, and she seemed genuinely happy for us. All in all, a great experience except for the long wait. Start to finish, about 4 hours.
