Can't say the process was that bad as have been to consulate before last year. Just feel like it is a cattle call. Not very personal at all as you have to speak through glass and everyone can hear your personal business.The first girl was great where I handed in all my documents and we went over the checklist and all was in order. She told me 3-5 days for visa. Then I sat and waited for interviewer whom I think was a newbie and he fumbled over my papers over and over and asked same questions about 3 times and he had the proof right in front of him. Typed all my answers in and then turns around and says they are missing one of my fiance's divorce decrees. There were 3 he said they only had 2 and they need it, even though it was sent to USCIS and approved but somehow they don't have it here. So he said I did not have to come in again just to post it in and then it will be finalised as everything was in order. Never told me about my envelope nothing lucky I knew gave me no time line as to when I get visa nada. Never even said good bye good luck nothing just walked away.
So my fiance sent decree express post and I was wondering why I had not received visa, Emailed consulate this week and they emailed back and said they had not received it, so I rang around and found out it got there Monday as it takes 1-3 days from the states express mail. Emailed consualte back and told them it was delivered and have heard nothing since.
The staff at consulate are very nice I would agree but I am not too impressed with my interview at all and this was last Tuesday 17th Aug and it is now 27th and have not heard a word. They said that once they get the decree they will print my visa no problem. After all we have been through and the waiting why is it taking so long to finish this end. We have done everything they asked and given everything they wanted and still I am waiting. We are getting married on 11th Sept in Orlando and now am worried I am going to make it by the skin of my teeth. My daughter is in the states too and will be meeting us next week in Atlanta. Just hope I get there before or at the same time .
