I am the USC, and I wasn't with my fiance during his interview, but everything went fine and he was approved. Here is his interview experience in his own words:
"I was so nervous before the interview. First I had hard time finding the embassy from the jungle of embassies, that place has pretty much every embassy that Finland has. I got there 10 minutes before 9am when my interview was scheduled though it wouldn't have mattered much even if I wasn't there in time as it seemed as there was already some people waiting before me. It took about 15 minutes to get through the security check and I was only allowed to bring papers I needed with me. After that I was escorted to the waiting room, which had 3 booths, and each had a person behind a glass calling names, whether it was for taking finger prints or dropping off some papers. Then after waiting for almost an hour I was called for the interview by the ambassador. And this is how the interview went:
Him:
Good morning sir
Me:
Good morning
Him:
How did you guys meet?
Me:
We met online, through a message board and we met in person in 2005 in California for the first time.
Him:
Ok, has your fiancee ever been in Finland with you?
Me:
Yes she has, 3 times and 9 months in total. First in 2006.... 2008... and 2009.
Him:
Ok, are you planning on moving to the United States?
Me:
Yes
(Then he handed me a piece of paper)
Him:
Do you swear that all the information you have handed us are correct and you have full understanding over the situation? If yes, sign this line here
(So then I signed the paper)
Him:
Ok I will process your application now and it will take 1.5-2 weeks.
Me:
Alright, Thank you and have a good day.
Him:
Thanks, you too!"
