Finally I get to wite a review!

I arrived at the consulate at 12:40 and was let in at 12:45 with another K1 aplicant. I was shown through security and then escorted up to the 20th floor. You are then called to window 2 to submit your documents. This bit is easy as long as you documents ae in order and present. Make sure you get the supporting evidence for the I-134 of support, fiance/ee bank statements, work contract and W2, etc.

I was then told that I had to pay the cashier, but the cashier was on lunch until 2pm. As it was 1pm, I was told that I could wait around or leave and come back. I chose to walk around the block and admire the Vancouver bay views while waiting and left. Remember to have another piece of ID on you to get back in as they hold onto your passport.

Arrived back at the consulate at around 1:45 and was shown through security again and led up to the 20th floor. Sat and waited outside the cashier's office and rang the bell at 2pm. Handed over cash to cashier and received a receipt. Only use US currency.

I then sat back down in the main waiting room and waited for another 30 minutes or so before being called up to another window for the actual interview. The gentlemen I got was uber-friendly and made me feel really calm and welcome. He brielfy otlined his job and then started the interview.

Interview consisted of:

Swearing an oath that the information in the application was true and that I was not already married

Describing details of how and where my fiancee and I met.

Talking about what I do now for work and what I plan on doing in the US.

We chit chatted about various things and the officer had obviously taken time to look through our case file as he knew certain facts off the top of his head. He then told me that I had satisfied him that I was free to marry, that I would not become a public charge and that I had a real relationship with my fiancee. He told me he as happy to approve our application and ished me all the best for the future. Yippeee!!

I was told to go back to window two to arrange pickup of my passport with the visa in it. I am to go back two days from now and pickup at 2pm.

Thank you Vancouver for such an awesome experience.
