Me and my finance arrived at the embassy around 7:10am. Our appointment was at 8:30am. We entered the embassy around 8:00am. The ladies with the yellow shirts gathered our paper work (DS156, D156K, DS157 & proof of visa payment). We entered through security (no cell phones, liquid gels, etc.). We passed the group of people sitting outside (visiting visa applicants) and went through the door, where a gentleman handed us a yellow slip and our number A140.
We waited about 1 1/2 hours before our number was called. A lady requested a copy of our documents (she was not very friendly, never made eye contact). She fingerprinted my fiance and then requested we be seated, and await our same number to be called.
We waited another 30 minutes or so. A white american male requested to see my finance\'s passport and asked me to be seated while he asked him some questions.
- when did u meet the first time
- what did u do that day
- when did she come back after that, next time, etc.
- when did u get engaged
- how many children does she have
- have u ever meant them
He asked him to be seated and asked me basically the same questions.
He never requested proof of realationship (pics, phone records, etc.). But he
did ask to see my passport (he looked at the date stamps/I have been to visit 13 times in the pass 16 months).
He called my fiance back up and requested to see his passport.
He asked him have you ever been arrested. My fiance said yes. He asked him
to explain the details. After explaining he stated he needed to see the details and issued a blue slip for a copy of the police record.
On the check list it states to obtain a police record if you have been convicted. If we needed this information we would have come prepared.
Now we have to wait until September 20, 2010 for our blue slip interview.
I did email the embassy for an earlier date if any cancellations. Will see...
