Hello everyone,

I am here to share with you guys my interview experience with all of you that are going to have your interview at the Jacksonville FL CIS Office.

Well, I had my interview today, it was scheduled for 8:30 in the morning, but we arrived there at 8:00 am. We walked out of the car leaving everything that could be dined entry at the Immigration office door. So at the door there was the same security guard as when we went for the Biometrics, I guess she's the only one there. So we entered, dropped our letter at the INTERVIEW box and sat down, we were just waiting to be called. It took them about 40 min to call us in, I saw some people arriving there after us and going in before us, but we didn't care, especially me, I guess I was more confident than my husband, he was quite nervous I must say. The lobby was quite full, but most of the people were just there for biometrics, very few were there for interview.

So after those 40 minutes, the door to our right from where we were sitting opens up, and this lady called my name, she didn't smile or wished us a good morning or anything, but I guess I was already expecting that for what I had heard. So, we all entered this cubicle, and unlike other mentioned, I didn't see any cameras or anything there. Our interviewer was nice, very polite and ethical, not many smiles or anything like that, just very nice. So she grabbed a folder full of papers, it was everything we had sent to Chicago. And she corrected some mistakes my husband made on the form, she asked anyone had ever filed anything for me before, and only my husband answered NO, she waited for 3 seconds after he had answered her and looked at me waiting for the same answer, but from me as well, and I said NO, and smiled meaning I am sorry for not answering. (Try to be very polite and answer them politely). So we brought over 150 pictures, but she didn't care much about them, she said the ones we had filed were enough even though she looked over some of the pictures from the album we had brought with us, ONLY AND SPECIFICALLY because she didn't see any pictures of all member of our families, she was very strict about it, she really wanted to see a picture of everyone together, but we didn't have it since we just had a court wedding, our real wedding will be in Brazil two months away from now and we explained that to her, so that was ok for her. Then, she asked for proof of joint accounts, we only had the phone bill, and the bank joint account, which we couldn't find the copy of, it took us about 6 minutes to find that bank joint account copy, but she didn't think we were going to find it so she kind of changed the subject (BE ORGANIZED, MAKE THREE DIFFERENT FOLDERS, ONE FOR COPIES ONLY, ONE FOR ORIGINALS, AND ONE FOR ALL THE LETTERS YOU RECEIVE FROM THEM, BRING EVERYTHING). But, Thank God we found the bank joint account copy, and after that she seemed to be a little more satisfied, then she asked if those were all the joint accounts we had, and after that asked how come I am not added to my husband's health insurance, and he explained to her that he will add me on October, because that's when it will be renewed. Well, and that was basically it.

She didn't look at as more then she looked at the papers, (OH, BY THE WAY, SHE KEPT MY I-94, SHE SAID I WOULD NEED IT ANYMORE).

Then, as she looked at out papers she said: Well, I am going to approve you, and you should receive your green card in the mail withing 1-3 months. Although it will just be a conditional green card, because you two haven't been married for more than two years. (She said that we didn't have much staff(proofs) but they already expect that when the couple has not been married for more than two years). And then she explained everything we had to do in order for us to apply for remove of conditional etc etc..

And in the end, she said, well that is it.. She stood up, shook our hands and I asked her name, she said what it was, we thanked her and left.
( My husband asked her if she wasn't going to stamp my passport, and then she said: Are you traveling soon? I said that I was in about 2 months, and she nicely said: Oh don't worry about it then, you will have your green card by then).

THE INTERVIEW LASTED NO MORE THAN 20 MINUTES.

I am sooooooooooooooo happy..

And I have one thing to tell all of you.

You have no idea how important it is to believe, to have faith, to picture the things you want to happen to you over and over again, the secret is to find within yourself what you really wish for, because you're able to achieve anything. It has been 5 years that I haven't seen my family, and yes, I looked at all this process as something that would change my life, and not just mine, everyone I can help.
Don't forget what it's like to be an immigrant, help those who are and that need you, don't ever turn your back at an undocumented immigrant, because maybe you haven't been one, but you know what it's like not to be able to work and live decently. Help others, and you shall be help, twice as much..

I love you all, and remember, TIME is the key to all this process, like I heard someone here on VJ say once to me: " Time is the game now ".

May our God bless all of you, and if you need any HELP, I am here to serve you..
(My nickname is Alektra, you can find me, send me a message if needed)

And now, I am going to plan my beautiful BRAZILIAN wedding...

TCHAU EVERYONE...

Beijosss.....
(Kisses).....
