We arrived at the consulate about 6:30 am. We stood on the left side of the door, and the line formed behind us. The guard opened the door around 7:30 am. We went down the stairs to the elevator. After about 15 minutes, the guard came down in the elevator and brought up letters A - E. We sat in the US citizens side of the room until 8:30. Letter B was called to a window before we were, but it wasn\'t long until Hubby was called. He handed in the orginals, made a couple of corrections on the DS-230, and was fingerprinted at that time. Then it was sit and wait again. At about 9:15 (Letter B was approved and gone by then), we were called to booth 7. A very nice lady swore us in. She said that she had retired from the Montreal office about 1 year ago, and only came back when they were swamped. This was her first day back, and we were her first case. She said that while she was waiting on the computer to boot up with her login, she had gone over our file. She said something about us meeting online (didn\'t know what WoW was). Other than asking my husband about a medical notation, that was the ONLY thing she brought up. She said our case looked good and everything appeared to be straight forward, and we were good to go! We asked if we could come back that afternoon and get the visa and she said \"normally, I would say you might be able to get it tomorrow, but we had printer problems, and are really backed up, unless it was an emergency or extremely important\" . . . We didn\'t get a letter or anything at that time, she said everything would be in the Canada Post envelope.
We walked back to Le Dauphin (great hotel), and just as we walked into the room, the phone rang. It was the consulate, saying something was wrong with his fingerprints, and we needed to go back right then. Off we went. When we got there, the guards had to call and confirm we were called back (couldn\'t just go back up there, they had Hubby\'s passport). The guards couldn\'t get in touch with anyone by phone (see, it\'s not just us!), and finally left a message. We waited about 15 minutes, and then were told to go straight to booth 7. The CO didn\'t \'confirm\' his fingerprint after we had been sworn in. He just had to give his right index fingerprint for verification, then we were done.
All in all, short and painless.
