Interview went ok... We did it together, I made sure to come to the interview because I thought it would help our case and also so I could support him.
We were aware of the change in price of the visa but were unaware that we would be paying the difference of 219 dollars... and we did not have the money... so Ahmed had to run out of the embassy and find an atm. I sat waiting nervously while they continued to call our number for biometrics, and I had to tell the lady that he ran out for a bit... so I think we got shuffled to the end of the list and had to wait forever once he did get back.

Finally when we were called, We were interviewed by a man in about his 30's I would guess. He was unemotional, and very quiet as he looked through our papers and as we answered which made me so nervous because I couldn't tell what he was thinking about our answers. It was mostly general things like what dates I had visited, how long and where I had stayed, Why had it taken so long for us to file since we had known each other for almost 3 years. Ahmed kept trying to show him photos and different things but the man kept waving them off and saying he wasn't ready for that. He eventually did look... Then finally he said without even looking at us (Rather shuffling through our papers) "I'm going to go ahead and approve you guys..." so we got so excited and we hugged each other... but then he added "You should receive your visa in about one month and can check it's status within 2 weeks." So then we knew we were in AP and are now extremely frustrated... Said all that jazz about it being "standard" yada-yada-yada... Well... the fate of our lives and our ultimate happiness are once again controlled by the whims of US government. Got a lot more crying and frustrated arguments ahead of us. WE JUST WANT TO MARRY ALREADY! Anyways, we have decided that if this does not go well, I will be moving to Egypt and we will NOT be applying for the marriage visa because honestly, we are both tired of this crap and just want to start living our lives together.
