Our interview appointment was at 9:30 however we arrived early because we were worried about traffic. We arrived around 9 o'clock, a woman went through our paperwork making sure we had two froms of the DS-156, 156K, and 157, passport, visa fee of 350.00 USD, and passport. Once she put those in order she had us go through security. Once through security we went through court yard to red and white sign where we recieved our number A-152. At around 9:30 our number was called and we went up to window 7 where we handed in the DS-156, 156K, and 157, passport, visa fee of 350.00 USD, passport, 134-affidavit of support, Birth Certificate, Non-Impediment, medical packet, 2008 W2 with return, 2009 W2 with return, and police certificate. The woman then had us go to window 17 for my fiance to get her fingerprints taken. Once this was done it was around 10 o'clock, we then waited about 2 hours for our number to be called again for the actual interview. During this time we noticed a lot of blue slips ,ostly because paperwork was not properly done (no signatures where needed), not having original documents, not enough financial support, the petitioner was not present, no evidence of relationship (pictures), and one persons medical was not properly filled out at the hospital.
When we were finally called up we were sworn in and I was then asked to sit down. My fiance was then asked:
1)when did we meet
2)when was the second time I visited/ how many days
3)where did i work
4)what was my position
5)has she met my family
6)have I met her family
7)what other dates date i come to visit her
At this point my fiance told the woman that including this visit I have come to visit 6 times. The IO then asked for my passport, she reviewed it and was pleased. She then asked to see some photos. After that the woman asked my fiance if she has every been arrested, has she every left Jamaica, no to both. IO then asked for her visa and said your fiance visa is approved.
Just make surew you have your paperwork correct and organized and everything will go smoothly.
