POE REVIEW - PEACE ARCH

I thought it would be beneficial to provide a review of the POE at the land crossing, as when I was planning the POE reviews for this location were difficult to find.

After spending 4 hours in secondary screening in Pearson Airport in Toronto in May, I was a little concerned about how long the K-1 POE would take.

Craig went through Peach Arch on a Tuesday at about 6am. The office was well staffed (about 7 border guards) and during the 20 minutes we actually spent in the screening area, there were only 2 other people that came and went.

The border official at the hut outside took one look at my packet and knew immediately what he was supposed to do
He directed us inside and another border official already had the passports and opened our packet envelope. A few other officials gathered around to 'see how it was done'. It took him all of 20 mins to complete everything, stamp it all and give us our i-94. He gave me the restrictions of the visa, all right, with the exception of telling me I could travel out of the country before I got married and adjusted status. I didn't correct him, but I smiled.

I am very glad we went through a) early, b) that our official knew what he was doing.

All in all, the POE took 20 mintues! YAYAYAY
