Well I had my interview in the amsterdam consulate the 20th of may. In general everything went well. the first thing I would like to point out though, read their website about entry of the embassy. I was dumb and didn't do that throughly and this cost me a lot of time, besides being treated like a terrorist lol
They ask you not to bring any electronics, be wise and don't. I made the mistake of carrying my laptop, phone, mp3 player, etc... This immediatly set me back 1,5 hour and completely back in line. They will ask you to take apart your equipment and leave your stuff with the guards. I arrived pretty much first but was dealt with the latest. So...respect their wishes...it'll help you a lot.
For the rest it went very well. Be prepared to take your time with it since there's pretty much just 1 person working through the papers and then the interview with the consul.
If your papers are in order like they asked and you have them with you in an organized manner, the entire matter doesn't take longer then 20 minutes in total. It's just the wait in the meantime that prolongs your stay there.
They are friendly if you go with the flow. They become a little more impatient if inconsistancies arise and they have to explain a lot. Not very strange since everybody needs to be helped that day and there really is just one person dealing with it.
For the rest I don't have references to other embassies but I can't say it was an unpleasent experience.
