Hi Everyone,

We stayed in Hotel Plateau Royale which was 3 Km from the Consulate. I took a walk in the evening to see the consulate location and find a convenient public parking. There is a big paid parking lot very close to the consulate, so i was happy and came back to the hotel.

Woke up at 5 30 AM in the morning and me and my wife reached the consulate by 6 30. It was drizzling, so i told my wife to wait in the car in the parking while i reserved the coveted first position in front of the consulate. Others started lining up behind me after 6 40. Met another VJ couple in the line and we chatted while trying to save ourselves from getting wet.

Wy wife joined me before the doors opened at about 7 32 and we were all relieved to enter the consulate after freezing outside for an hour. We were asked for the interview letter and were told to empty out pockets and remove the jackets. A quick security check / XRay scan of the items by the security personnel on duty and we were told to move downstairs to the waiting area. Soon enough, another guard came to take alphabet A,B and C upstairs to the waiting area on the 19 th floor and was kind enough to tell us to enjoy the view from up there.

At about 8 - 8 15 i(letter A) was called to window 11 for submission of the documents. I had already submitted everything in original at the NVC stage, so the documents asked from me were

MY passport
Medical Documents
Updated financial information - My wife had changed her job so i submitted the new pay stubs, employment letter, Updated I864 EZ , tax return for 2009.
Updated DS230- he address in US had changed as well, so i took an updated DS 230 as well
Expresspost Envelope
I was not asked for the photographs as they already had them.

I came back and waited about 10 minutes to be called back again to the same window for fingerprinting. The lady then told me to wait in the waiting area to be called for the interview.

Another 10 minutes wait and we were called to window no 7. It is a small room about 5 feet by 6 feet size with the CO sititng behind a glass window. The CO greeted us niceley and told us to keep our stuff on a chair. We were told to raise our hand and take an oath. The questions asked were

-When did we first meet.
-To my wife where did she work and in what capacity
-The CO went through all out documents and gave the originals back to us one by one. The CO then checked the translation of my brith certificate and told us that it was not certified by a competent person. We tried to convince him, however he still wasnt convinced. Anyways he accpeted it and returned the original back to me.
-Where was i studying and when am i completing my studies.
-Proofs of my wife's visits to see me in canada.

Then he congratulated us and gave us the welcome to US letter. We were out of the consulate at about 9AM.

Thank you all on VJ for all the help. The journey has been much more informed and easier with the help of the resources on VJ.
