Review Topic: K1 Visa

I just want to thank all the other members on here who posted their experience during the interview process. Without them there is no way that we would have been approved for our K-1 visa. And I even hired an attorney to help me with the process because I had know idea what to expect during this 6 month long process. Luckily the attorney told me to read this website and and the reviews to know what to expect. The most important review I read was one about his fiance being denied a student visa and having this be a big problem during the interview for his fiance visa. To all those out there who are applying I would go with your fiance if at all possible. I saw a couple of women get denied who were by themselves and if there is any problem they will most likely deny your fiance if you are not present. Everything was great with my petition lots of evidence and all paperwork filled out correctly. However my fiance had a denial of a student visa two years ago. Her Aunt had a longtime boyfriend in the States and he had offered to help my fiance with her student visa afadavit of support, she was denied because of lack of financial resources for that visa. When she went to talk to the consular he basically felt that she was committing fraud and that she was using me to get to the United States. He gave her a very hard time about this and then said that he wanted to talk to me about this past visa. If I hadn't read the previous reviews on this website we would not have been prepared for this seemingly non important factor because we have a great relationship. All in all if there was EVER a past denial make sure that you and your fiance/wife are on the same page and she remembers what the denial was for and who sponsored if anybody. I had to tell him that I was aware of this and I knew for a fact that it wasn't a romantic relationship. If I hadn't been so forceful about it he would have denied us. So make sure you go over this with your fiance/wife. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait some more it's so slow. I would compare it to the Chinese torture method of dripping water on your forehead for hours and hours. We did see people get denied but they pretty much approved all couples that were at the interview together. So be prepared and be together that would be my advice. At the end we got our visa and we were so happy.

P.S He didn't look at ANY OF OUR EVIDENCE. He just cared about her past denial

Good luck.
