We arrived at the consulate at around 6:40am. We really wanted to be first in line and we were successful.

We were alone until approx 7 and only a few more people showed up by the time they opened the doors around 7:30.

We were up in the waiting area by about 7:45 and were called up to the window shortly after that.

We had done electronic processing so they needed our original DS-230 and I-184 and police clearance. They wanted a copy of my passport, marriage cert and birth certificate as well as the originals.

He asked me a few questions about my info and I was sent away while my file was reviewed. The guy was pleasent and obviously experienced. He joked about my sticky tabs and asked if he could keep them and add them to his collection.

5 minutes later I was called back up to the same window and they took my finger prints.

Took another 10 minutes to be called into the interview room. We had a man who was very pleasent. He said our file was very organzied and they had everything they needed. He asked us how we met and what we did for a living and then told us we were approved.

He mentioned something about not crossing back until I get my green card and I can't cross without advance parole. I think there must be some confusion with K1 since the CR1 is a multi entry visa.

He did offer to let me keep my passport since I do have a trip planned next week but we opted to leave it and have the visa issued.

And with that we were done. We were out of the consulate by 9am.

All in all it was a very smooth process.
