We stood in line about an hour before our appointment time of 8.30am. We showed the letter and passports at the first checkpoint. Then at the second. We then went into the guard booth to have our stuff x-rayed and through metal detector. It wasn't too busy and all this took about 20 mins. We then went in to embassy and were given a number and told to wait. After around 40 mins we were called up to a window and the woman checked that they had all our documents and asked a few questions and kept saying she hated her job! We were given a pink slip to fill in for the courier to have my passport returned and told to wait again. After around 30 mins we were called to a different window. I swore an oath and was asked if I had ever been in trouble with the police or had problems with immigration. She asked us how we met and we talked to her a bit about our wedding and our children. All the while she was ticking boxes. She eventually ticked the last box and said my application was approved. She was nice and friendly and seemed to enjoy telling us the good news. We then went to courier desk and paid £14.50 to have my passport returned. We were staying in the Millenium hotel literally across the road from the embassy so it was a short walk there and back. We stayed 3 nights in London and had a good time. It is a very nice city and well worth exploring. All in all a very easy and pleasant experience.
