So.....
I live in London, and as a result, long travel times weren't a problem. Myself and my USC wife decided to stay in a hotel a bit closer to the Embassy anyway, just so we didn't have to be up ridiculously early for our 8am appointment.
We left the hotel over at Kings Cross at around 6:30am.... got a taxi to my office in SOHO so that I could drop of everything we couldn't take into the embassy.
We then walked the 15minutes to get to the Embassy.
We were outside the Embassy at 7:10am for an 8am appointment, and there were people ahead of us in the queue already........
They started to let people in at around 7:40 and it was a fairly quick process. We were sat down inside by around 7:50.
I must have been the first Immigrant visa applicant in the queue as mine was the first 'I' number called at around 8:05am. I handed all my documents over at the counter and was told to go and pay for the visa and then come back. The lady at the first counter then told me to sit down and wait to be called again..... so we sat down at around 8:15...... at around 9:20 we were called again to a different counter..... I had to swear an oath, answer some very simple questions about our relationship, how we met, when we got married, why we wanted to move to the US etc....... and after that was over, at approximately 9:30 the interview was finished and we were told I was approved..... and to go and pay for the courier.
It was actually a very quick process compared to a lot of people on here..... but I suppose being the first 'I' visa of the day helped to speed things up
I was back in my office working by 11am - and that was after we stopped off for some breakfast!!
