Phill's interview was at 9:30am and he got into the building and had his number by 9:07am. He said he waited in this large waiting area and sat there until about 11:25am before his number was called. Once he was called, he went to the window and handed the girl the forms she asked for which were: affidavit of support+supporting evidence from me and our co-sponsor (they didn't ask for it, but he gave it to them anyway), 1 copy police certificate, 1 copy birth certificate, passport, and 2 passport sized photos. They didn't look at my employer letter or our evidence of relationship info. Then she took his finger prints (4 on each hand then two thumb prints) but the machine was broke, so she sent him over to pay the $131. He came back and got his fingerprints sorted out. Gave him a pink form to fill in for the courier and he sat and waited for 45 mins to be called again. This time he went to the interview window and had a pleasant American woman who had him sign the DS forms from packet 3, took left hand fingerprints to make sure he was still the same person, and asked him general questions about our relationship and plans for after he moves to the states. The interview took all of 5 minutes with her saying "you're approved!" and then he took the pink form to the courier desk and paid £14.50 for delivery of the visa which should arrive within 3-5 working days. Kept his passport, which he will get in the mail with his visa. Security was tight, but only took him 5-10 mins to get through with his briefcase with our binder of paperwork inside. He was able to leave the embassy around 1:00pm and made his 2:07pm train back to Liverpool! All in all, a pleasant experience which made the whole situation less stressful.
