My fiance entered his interview at the American Consulate in Casablanca on November 6. We arrived at 630 am and he went into the embassy at 7:45 am while a friend and myself waited at the cafe across from the consulate. My fiance was very well prepared with everything in seperate files from our emails, financial support proof, forms needed for the interview, and he also had all of our chat logs in very neat binders and almost 200 pics with explanations under each picture. His interview was only 10 minutes long and he passed. He came back out of the consulate running with the biggest smile at 9:30 am the entire process lasted 1 hr and 45 minutes.
The original date was set for November 2 but when I reached Morocco and driving home from the airport my fiance received a call from the embassy that his interview date was changed to Friday the 6th. I was to leave on the 5th. I rearranged my schedule and was able to stay until Sunday the 8th. My fiance said the the man that interviewed him was an American English speaking and was very rude and condescending. He was asked these questions as I remember them as my fiance told me:
Are you going to marry your fiance and then go to America and divorce her in 3 yrs like everyone else? My fiance answered No, I have other ways to go to America other than a fiance visa and when I met her I never had even thought of going to the United states". The interviewer just smiled.
You are a very young and handsome man, and you are marrying a woman very much older than you (19 yrs difference) Why? My fiance answered, "Age has no meaning in our lives together I love her for who she is"
How about children, she is 44 yrs old what if she cant have children? My fiance answered What if I am unable to give her children? The interviewer said nothing.
Why do you love your fiance? My fiance answered, because she is a good woman who is honest caring and has a pure heart, one that I have never been able to find before. The interviewer laughed and said that was a Stupid answer.
My fiance was beginnning to get angry and upset but knowing how my fiance is very good with a challenge and under pressure he remained calm and figured that was what the interviewer was trying to do to get my fiance to fumble.
He was asked my siblings names (there are 7 of us) he told them there names and then the interviewer asked what they did for a living. My fiance answered he did not know as I do not speak of them and do not have family relationships with only but one of my sisters and so he asked what does that one sister do and he answered a home maker which is correct.
He was asked what yr I graduated high school and my fiance answered he did not know as we never talked about that before. He said there were a few other questions that he did not know the answers to but he was honest and told them I dont know, feeling that honesty was the best policy. The interviewer never looked at any of our proof not the chat logs not the forms or proof of income he only looked at a couple of pictures in the album that was presented to him, and said to my fiance "Unfortunately, you are very organized and very well prepared, your visa is approved". What a smug man, but we do not care of him as our life can now begin He will be entering the US in about 5 days. Thanks be to God.
