The low grade reflects the Consulate's services before the medical exam and interview (for which it deserves a 0) and the two days spent in Naples for the medical exam and interview (for which it deserves 4).
Before the interview: I followed the instructions provided on the Consulate website to get in touch with them, i.e. I sent emails and faxes but got no answer for more than 6 weeks. Then I started calling their regular number (forget the 899, they know nothing and all they do is just watching a computer screen) and after having bounced a couple of times I was told that they did receive my case and all I needed to do was to send them an email (another one!!!) in order to schedule an interview asap. So I did, but after other 2 weeks of silence I called back...this time, with my huge surprise, I was transferred to the Visa office where I was informed that I didn't show up at the medical and interview scheduled in March for which they have sent me earlier in Feb a letter/package (which I've never received). I don't how I made it to keep myself calm but I replied that I've sent them many emails and faxes before requesting to send me any notice by email to avoid possible trouble with mail delivery...at the end of the story they scheduled me (with much arrogance I must say) another date sending me a wrong instruction package (it had wrong picture format and fees information) by email. As I found out during the 2 days spent in naples, army spouses are treated in very different/privileged way...I met a woman married to a US army who received 2 packages (correct ones) and was answered to email almost on the same day she sent it... The grade can be only 0....but just because I can't go lower than that.
Medical and interview: the easiest part of the journey. Thanks to fellow VJers's tips I was able to avoid shots (brought with me vaccinations record and a recent blood work showing the antibodies). The docs are all Italians, super nice and funny. The interview took just 5/6 minutes (I was a bit shocked to see that the "interview" is made in front of all other people waiting in the same room...no privacy at all).
Good luck to future Naples candidates...you really need it.
