Had my interview at 7.30 and arrived shortly after 7. Waited for 25 minutes and was the first person to receive a number. Around 8 I was called to window 23 to turn in my photo, passport, and DS-230. Received an envelope that needed to be stamped.
30 minutes later, I was called to window 20 for a document check. The lady went over the DS-230 with me and answered some questions. She looked through the other forms and took back the stamped envelope. She asked if I had already gone to the medical. When I denied ,she made sure that I would get an early interview so that I had time to visit the doctor the same day.
After another 30 minutes, I was called again to have my interview with the consular officer at window 18. He was extremely nice even though I had problems understanding him at first through the intercom. He fingerprinted me, and asked how I had met my husband. He also asked where we got married. I then had to take the oath. Finally, he went over the I-864s with me, asking some more questions concerning my co-sponsor. He was very encouraging in all respects. After the interview, he explained to me what to do when I received my visa. I left the consulate at 9.25.
The only complaint I have is that the consular officer or his assistant forgot to give me a copy of my passport which was needed at the doctor's office. The nurses were not thrilled because they had to obtain a copy through the consulate instead of having me bring it. I hope this will not cause any delays.
