We arrived at the consul at 5:30am and the line was absolutely insane! We didn't get into the actual building until maybe 8:00am. DO NOT listen to the people outside telling you that you need your photos and forms stapled or trying to sell you services. They do not work for the consul and there is no need for the forms or photos to be stapled. Whatever need to be done the consul will do for you. I was told by an employee of the embassy that they are just annoying people trying to make a buck. The employees wear yellow polo shirts. Once we got inside the embassy it was hot, humid and extremely crowded with sweaty people with no where to sit since all the benches were full. There are a lot of fans but did absolutely nothing with the amount of people there. We were called to the first window and I gave our forms- I was told the I-134 was not needed and it was returned to me. Apparently the birth certificate wasn't in the extensa format. Even though we were told by the person who gave it to us that it was, but since it was legalized they didn't care. The guy asked me a few questions such as were I was from and where I was born and how I communicate with my fiance since my Spanish isn't very good. Second time called for fingerprints. Third was the interview we got a young American girl. She swore us both in and began questioning. She had my fiance write my name on swearing in form and told me not to help him in the spelling. She asked most of the questions to me and a couple to my fiance. All the questions were from my petition and maybe one from the new forms I gave them. She explained she that she read the supplemental essay about how we met etc. She first asked me when we met? How old am I? How old is he? Why did you decide to get married? When did you parents meet him and how do they feel about it? Are you sure about your choice to get married? Where is he working? Are you still in school and when did you finish? Then she asked him questions in Spanish. Have you ever been in trouble with the police? Have you ever been the US? Have you ever applied for a resident visa before? Have you ever applied for a visitor visa? Have you ever traveled outside of your country? Congratulations you have been approved!!!!!! She didn't ask for anything! I had brought a huge folder with telephone bills, western union receipts, bank statements etc. But I'm assuming that applied to our case because there were people that needed to show a bunch of stuff and another couple that was told to wait for a second interview!! We left around 12:30 after paying Domex. The approval line was soooo long so I guess it was a good day for everyone!
