Like anyone else on here I was a little over the top about researching interview experiences and getting my documents in order.
My interview experience was bittersweet. I arrived around 1:15pm for my 2:00pm interview. Took only five minutes to clear security. My husband and I waited till about 2:10pm before we were called.
While waiting to be called, the police came to escort a guy out in handcuffs and his alien wife was crying. Everyone was startled and it started my day out rough.
The officer seemed scary at first but ended up being nice and easy to talk to. He asked standard yes/no questions, personal identification information and was ready to approve the case until his system didn't allow him.
According to his system, I was under deportation proceedings but the phone line was not showing any update and no hearing date had been scheduled. He went to see 3 supervisors for about 30 minutes and returned saying that he needs to talk to the big boss in order to approve this and that they never sent my NTA (notice to appear for hearing) notice in the mail.
He told me I would recieve a decision in the mail in a week.
Two days after my interview, I finally got the email notification "card production ordered".
It is a miracle.
I thank officer CB for being very understanding, taking his time and following up.
