The Interview process was fairly easy. The only hold up really was the fact that my fiance purchased his visa prior to getting letter number 4 and one of the officers was upset about this and had to consulate management or something to let my fiance through. Other than that, the interview was painless. My fiance did not have to show hardly any of the additional documents proving our relationship. however he is glad that he had it so that he was prepared. I went with him and waiting in the USA lounge which felt good for me to be there supporting us and also to see his face when he came back from the interview. Of course we had much help from our lawyers through the whole process and they did they prepared us with all documents and instructed us what to have and we are thankful as we did see some unhappy customers there because they did not have there documents in order.
Plus the lounge had AC, decent snacks, plenty of seating, and music videos to watch. I just read a book in the corner. The have bathrooms also if you need change clothes, do shave, clean up before your interview or cool off from the nervousness from the interview process.
Also make sure to go at least 30 minutes early prior to interview so that the interviewee can possibly catch an early shuttle to the consulate and they may have there interview sooner. Reminder that just because it says 7:30AM interview keep in mind that many of you also have that same appointment time and that first come first serve is how they are handled.
Also another note if you are a K visa once you get into the consulate you will be questioned by an officer, basically asking your name, do you know that you have to get married within 90 days after entering USA, your birthdate, where do you live type of questions. If suspicious they apparently will try to shake it out of you at this time. If you pass with the first officer then you are moved to another waiting area and give a pink token. If you do not have one of these make sure to tell someone to make sure you either get another token or at least you get to keep your place in the interview line-up. My fiance interviewed with the second officer, she was a women, she seemed to be kind, quick to the point and did not ask him any questions twice. All in all from the time that he left the lounge to the time he got back to the lounge he was gone about 1.5 hours. That is not to bad considering the ride with the shuttle, waiting in line for interview, dealing briefly with upset officer about the early purchase of visa, then going through basically two interviews, approval, and then riding the shuttle back to the lounge.
