We couldn't have hoped for a better experience for my husband's interview. I flew to Casa and waited anxiously in the cafe across the street. He was asked a number of the usual questions about our relationship/marriage. He wasn't asked to produce any of the evidence I'd laden him with - not a single photo, after all the work I'd put into putting together our album! I had sent a large number of photos, emails, and some sworn affidavits from friends and family with my I-130 application - not sure if they had already seen those and were satisfied. He was approved at the end of the interview and told to pick up his passport the next day. We returned to NY the day after that. It was unbelievably joyful.
My advice to anyone about to file is to front-load your I-130 with as much evidence as possible as I'm pretty sure that helped us get virtually approved by the time our file reached the consulate. Before the interview, be sure to email the consulate for their list of local translators, as you will need to get the main documents retranslated by a Casa translator. Wish they had that info on their website! And make sure judicial/police reports are as recent as possible.
If you have a solid relationship and have dotted every i and crossed every t, in my experience you have nothing to worry about. The consulate behaved very professionally and respectfully to my husband.
We couldn't have done this so quickly and smoothly - and on our own - without the fantastic help and support of VJ. What a fantastic resource.
