My lawyer had filed the application after I FIRED HIM so there were two equal AOS packages inside the system and they issued me two different Alien numbers.
The 'officer' over the 1-800 line told me to make an infopass appt so I did.
I scheduled the fist day and time available... a 23rd at 7:45sm. It was 18th when I scheduled it. We showed up around 7:20 and people were in line outside the Fallon Federal bldg... visitors door doesn't open until 7:30. We walked in, checked in w/ the security guard and proceeded to around the corner of room 101 where one more officer reviewed the appt. letter and realized we were the first appt of the day -- she let us into the room. It was empty so we walked up to window 1 and talked to the lady. Showed my ID, the letter and printed out a ticket number. About 5 minutes later an officer came up to window 3 and called our number. We told her about the problem we had and SHE APOLOGIZED for having us come all the way here for something a rep could have taken care of over the phone. Ugh! However, the officer reviewed the NOAs while I explained everything and she calmly and carefully started to compose a referral letter she would forward to NBC. She even joked w/ me when I asked her to put in the letter to keep alien number 2 because it was EASIER to remember and she agreed and put that down on the letter. SHE WAS WONDERFUL AND SWEET. It took her time to write it but that is service right there for you. We stayed until she finished and hand wrote the referral number on a yellow post it and handed it over to me. Explained the do-not-call-until-30-days-have-passed policy, thanked her and left.
I couldn't rate this officer ANY BETTER. If only my AOS interview went the same later this year I will be very lucky.
