Guangzhou, China | Review on June 22, 2009: | PORTER
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
[Oct. 2008] It was a large space and I could see and hear the applicants that went before me. So you can tell which interviewers are passing the most applicants. I was very nervous because one of the interviewers had been rejecting a lot of applicants. I was afraid I would get him and sure enough, I did. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, as I did pass. He asked me five questions and then asked to see our photos, and my passport.
The questions were, Where did my fiance and I meet?, Where did he go to school?, In what town in America was his school located?, What were the jobs of his parents?, [we're young] and where does he live?. Just things I should know anyway if our relationship is real.
I was very organized [my american fiance helped me]and had a clear see-through folder for each topic. Each folder had an index page that showed exactly what was in it. The folders were:
evidence of support, the topics were
I-134
bank statements
credit report
income tax returns
proof of relationship,
timeline of our relationship, when we met, when he returned to see me, etc
receipt for wedding ring or engagement ring
airline tickets [from his visits to see me]
our letters, our emails, phone bills, internet phone records
moneygram bank transfers [money he sent me]
hotel receipts [where he stayed when he visited me]
photos, photo of my fiance with my parents, showing he visited them
extras
case numbers, receipts of service from USCIS
letters of our relationship one written by me, one by my fiance
affadavit of meeting and intent to marry
I-797 and I-797C
proof of petitioners residency in the USA
ID card, drivers license, credit card, bank debit card
birth certificate from USA
bank statements
elec. and phone and utility bills from USA residence
I hope this helps someone. I know we were helped by the couples who went before us. Best of luck to you.
