Review Topic: K1 Visa

I arrived at the embassy at about 10 minutes to 9am. I was supposed to submit the documents at 9am and the interview's at 1.30pm. Anyways, after getting the pass (showed them interview letter, etc), I lined up and waited for the guards to let me in. I went in at about 9.10am. I was a total nervous wreck! I took the number but it turned out to be a wrong one, coz I took the non-immigrant visa type and mine was an immigrant visa. So I took another number... waited... my number was B402 Waited and finally they called my number. I gave them all the documents, the lady looked thru them, asked me a couple of questions, took the photos as relationship evidence (I didnt have to submit any other receipts or emails or chat logs), signed a few documents and asked me to sit down. I was called again and I had to pay the USD131 fees, I paid with my credit card. After that, I was free to go and will have to come back at 1.30pm for the interview.

I went to KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers), walked around... went for a manicure coz it was like almost 11am and I had 2 hours to kill. So after that, went to Starbucks, had a cuppa and lunch... then it was almost 1pm and I left for the train station to go back to the embassy. I reached the embassy about 1.10pm and I went in.. waited for a while... well, I waited for like 1/2 hour and my number was called again. The officer was a Chinese American... really nice guy. He took my finger prints and asked me swear in telling the truth and nothing but the truth.... then asked me to walk to the other window where the interview is done.

He asked me a couple of questions, below are some that I can remember:

1. What is your fiance's name?
2. What does he do? (At first he said "husband" and I corrected him, saying "fiance")
3. How long has he been working there?
4. Have you ever been to the US?
5. Have you stayed anywhere else (for more than 6 months) outside of Malaysia?
6. When do you intend to get married?
7. How did you meet?
8. How many times did you meet up personally?
9. Where does he live?
10. Do you plan to have a wedding ceremony in the US and Malaysia?
11. Has your fiance stayed in Malaysia or anywhere near Malaysia before?

He asked me a few more small questions... when he asked me about the wedding ceremony, I told him we're just gonna do a small wedding party and we haven't exactly planned yet coz we wanted to make sure we get the visa first. He was like, what are you talking about? Of course you're gonna get the visa! Well, unless it's a fake engagement! :P Heh... so he was a really really sweet and nice guy! I'm glad to get him as my interviewer!!

Oh yeah, the interview took like maybe 10-15 minutes and I was out of the place by 2pm!!
