BEST ADVICE GET THERE EARLY!
I cannot stress that point enough, forget what the welcome letter says about not arriving until half hour before your interview.
I was there 7.15am and got allocated ticket number 5001

But like all the other reviews, its a case of going through security, making sure you dont take any battery powered items, cellphones, ipods etc.. (Like the previous UK reviewer i got caught out with the evidence of relationship thing in the form of a musical card! Gutted i had to dash it but my fiance would have done the same - in fact she'd be like go for it - do what you need to do to bring my guy home dammit! )

So yeah, wait your turn to be called for the document presentation, present all your documents making sure you supply a copy as well, pay the fee and wait for the actual interview.

I have to admit that i was nervous as hell, everytime they called out the numbers my glands sent a rush of adrenaline in expectation of my turn, heart rate increased, legs felt like they were gonna give way, i mean i can't believe a lot of people have said ' yeah piece of cake, nothing to worry about'. I mean sure there is nothing to worry about providing you are genuine and have everything in order, but even so...boy it was pretty intense, thats all i'll say.
Oh and to add to the intensity after they called ticket 5000 for interview they then announced ticket 5002, and i'm thinking 'did i miss my number?' 10 minutes later i hear a ticket number 5003 and so now i'm proper panicking thinking that maybe they have completely missed me or are gearing me up for a proper grill session.

20 minutes later .....ticket number 5001!
OMG....jump...legs feeling like jello....stumble to window 16 where i was greeted by an american lady who seemed pleasant enough, auburn hair (wondered if she was the scary redhead or not), noticed she had already filled in the blue slip so that didnt help but hey i'm here now so give it my best. She verified my prints on the scanner asked me to raise my right hand and swore me in.
In all fairness the questions were a breeze but she did want to know more about the caution on my police report, nothing that would deny me a visa though.
However she explained that all the documents were fine BUT my birth certificate would need to be professionally translated, which surprised me since the one supplied with my initial K1 app (translated by a distant family member) was never questioned by USCIS. Nevertheless she instructed me on what to do, handed me the blue slip and told me once they received the passport and docs she would issue me the visa. Of course i did ask the magical question ' so am i approved then?' and she wryly smiled 'yes pending the documentation requested, no need to come back and be reinterviewed'

So not the outstanding result we all want, but pretty damn close
My US fiance was happy crying on the phone when i told her and i didnt waste anytime in getting the birth cert sent off to a professional translator, should be here tuesday next week!
