Approved! Just waiting for the visa to be delivered now....

I got to Bond Street tube station just before 7.15am, walked to Gould's Pharmacy to store my bag and electrical items (they insisted on doing them separately so they could lock the electrical items away - so it was £5 x 2, but still good value!)

Walked the short way to the embassy and joined the line around 7.30am. Moved through the stations showing appointment letter and passport, and had to put my watch into a plastic bag. Then it was through the x-ray machines and into the embassy proper. I was in at 7.55am and issued immigrant ticket #5004.

They started calling the 5000+ numbers at 8.15 and I was up at 8.45. I gave the lady my appointment letter and passport and then had to go pay £86 at another window. Back to the first window and she took my photos, birth certificate, police certificate, and I-134 with evidence. She asked me a few questions like if I had been married before, been denied a visa before, done military service etc. etc. Basically she had this checklist on the inside of a folder which she went down ticking or n/a depending. She gave me back my x-ray from the medical, took my fingerprints, gave me the courier form to fill in then told me to sit down again and wished me luck! This all took about 15-20mins.

Back to the waiting area and I was called again about 9.25am. Had a young American chap interviewing me, seemed friendly, when he took my fingerprints and he said he liked my engagment ring Then I had to hold up my right hand and listen to the whole 'do you swear to tell the truth' etc. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to say something equally epic like 'I do' at the end of it but I settled for 'yep'!

So then it was the interview - it went very quick, must've been 5 minutes max I think, although the questions were coming fairly fast. I was asked about 10 questions that I can remember:
-What countries have you lived in since you were 16?
-What do you do for your company?
-Does your company do projects in the US or UK?
-What's the longest you've been in the US?
-What was the purpose of that trip?
-Was that when you met your fiance?
-Have you ever been in trouble with the police?
-What is your fiance's job?
-Who does he work for?
-What are the chances of him getting recalled? (my fiance is also in the military reserves)
-When and where are you planning on getting married?

I answered all these, and he said it was all ok, gave me my orginial birth and police certificates back and told me to go and pay at the courier desk. I paid £34.75 for a delivery before 8am. They said 5 working days, but I've heard there have been delays recently so we'll see!

I was out of there at 9.45am on the dot. Not bad!!
