Review Topic: K1 Visa

Turned up at 6:50 for 8am interview only to find a queue had already formed in front of the Embassy! The security started to let us through at 7:30. It helped being there so early because I got the very first immigrant visa number 5000. It looks like all 5000 people were told the same thing, to wait around window 1 so when they started calling us, it was a bit of a track to get to windows 13 and 14. I was called up to window 13 around 8:10, 8:15. The first thing I was asked was whether I had my medical yet and when I said yes, she asked when since it still hasn't arrived here. My heart just sank after that. I was so disappointed because the Knightsbridge doctors’ definitely had enough time to deliver it. She was sooooo slow in checking everything and took good 5 minutes just getting all her stationary ready. Wasn't all that clued in either. At one point she said "there is no such thing as British Croatian" and I said I know but the question asked to list your nationality and if dual list both, so I did, one below the other. Maybe I should have put “and” in between . I paid at window 12 while she was shuffling the rest of the paperwork. She took I-134 + supporting documentation, police certificates, translations + copies and birth certificate, translation + a copy. At one point she went off to see if they've received the results from my medical even though they were not on the system yet and thankfully she found them. After about 20 minutes (it seemed a lot longer because she of her innate speed), I was handed back the x-ray pic and pink curriers sheet and told to wait in the waiting room. After about an hour, which passed surprisingly quickly (I had a book but just could not concentrate), I was called up to window 15. She verified my identity by asking me to place my right hand on the fingertips scanner and asked me to affirm that all the supplied info is true to the best of my knowledge. The actual interview went very smoothly and I was asked few standard questions:
1.) How did we meet?
2.) Name of the website?
3.) Was it a dating site?
4.) How long ago did we meet?
5.) When did we realised it was serious?
6.) When did he propose?
7.) Where does he live?
8.) What does he do?
9.) What do I do?
10.) Do I plan to work in the same field?
11.) Where will he live?
12.) When is the wedding?
I think that was it or at least I can't remember any other questions .
Then she said, I'm glad to tell you, you are APPROVED! I could have kissed her but I just said thank you . Paid the currier (extortionate price of £34.75 for before 8am delivery) and was out of the building by 9:40! Overall, very good. In truth, a lot better than I thought it would be.
