We arrived at Embassy and after showing our appt letter we were let in. After the security checks a young Iranian gentleman looked at our letter and asked my wife if she wanted her interview to be conducted in Farsi or in English. Our choice was Farsi and after a couple of hours our name was called. The interviewer was an Asian Lady that spoke beatiful Farsi.I stood back and sat down and waited to go to the window if I am needed. At the Embassy everybody is sitting in a big hall and people go to the windows to have their interview. Most of the time you can hear other people's interviews being conducted.
My wife was asked :
How did you meet your husband? We had met online so she told her and then she asked for the website's name and our screen names on that website.
How long have you known your husband ?
Where do you live in Iran? With your parents?
She asked more questions that I must add later as I recall them. Then she asked for my tax returns and my wife's original Iranian ID / Birth Certificate ( Shenasnameh ) .She then reviewed all and then told us we'll have to wait for my wife's security clearence.I was under the impression that we would get the visa right away on the spot but NO ! We had to wait almost 4 months and my wife had to come back to Turkey to get her visa and then she was able to travel to the US.Our interview was in March and it was in July that our case number showed up in their system indicating that she was cleared. The process after that was pretty easy, she flew out there and just gave them her passport and the visa in the passport was delivered to her at the Hotel 2 or 3 days later. The overall process was not too hard but very lenghty and a lot of paperwork had to be filled out in the US as you all know :-)
