I am the American spouse and was not at the interview. But based on my husband's report, I am surprised at how smoothly it went, and how simple the consular officer's questions were.
Basically, here is what the CO in Amman asked:
1. Did your wife come with you to the interview?
2. How did you and your wife meet?
3. When did you and your wife meet?
4. What does your wife do for a living?
5. What would your wife do if she lost her job?
6. What did you do when you were in [Country X]? (My husband has worked and lived outside Jordan in the past.)
7. Do you have photos of the wedding? (The CO glanced at a few of the wedding photos through the dividing glass.)
END OF INTERVIEW....."Congratulations, etc."
Here is what the CO did NOT ask about: children, ex-husbands, finances, future plans, sex, shared interests, our most recent argument, the color of my underclothing, blood types, the I-134, where we plan to live, our families, religious differences, age differences, how we stay in touch, etc. The CO didn't look at any supporting evidence except a few wedding photos.
Our weakest point going into the interview was the I-134, and we expected the CO to pounce on it and grill my husband about my job and my financial situation. But the CO never mentioned the Affadavit of Support.
